Claude Johnson stood alone in front of Greenwich High School late Tuesday afternoon, introducing himself to the steady stream of voters, and thanking people when they emerged with a sticker.

“Every vote counts,” said the Democrat, a newcomer challenging state Rep. Fred Camillo for the 151st District.

Johnson, who was born in Vienna, Austria, even chatted in German with one woman. But, busy talking to voters, he was short on words about his expectations.

“I’ve never done this before, so I’m going to let someone else tell me how it’s going,” said Johnson, who was eventually joined by state Rep. Livvy Floren, R-149th, doling out pencils.
